ColdFusion is a programming language based on standard HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language) that is used to write dynamic webpages. It gives the web designer incredible flexibility and power to create web pages on the fly (dynamically) that differ depending on user input, database lookups, time of day or other criteria.

ColdFusion programming language was introduced by Allaire in 1996, acquired by Macromedia in a merger in April 2001, then acquired by Adobe in December 2005. Version 8.0.1 was recently released but the next version of the product (codenamed Centuar) is already in development.
