Formal Rescue Requests (Corpse Retrieval)
|
Procedure:
Requests for "Rescue" shall include any free members to form together in order to retrieve a guild member's corpse. This course of action should ONLY be taken when the situation is obviously hopeless without outside help. Members are NOT to abuse Requests for "Rescue" as it can potentially disrupt game-play for numerous guild mates. In short, we want to help you, but don't overuse this fire alarm.
A guild member may call for a formal 'Request for Rescue' at any time they deem their corpse is impossible to retrieve without the direct involvement of the guild. The calling member shall ensure they have exhausted every possible means at their disposal to reclaim their corpse including (but not limited to) the following:
- Getting assistance from group members
- Getting assistance from others in the zone via /ooc
- Getting assistance from "real-life" or "in-game" friends
- Others...
All guild-members shall make every reasonable effort to respond to this plea for help unless it is clearly unsuitable for the guild-member to disband from current activities. Some examples of this include:
- Participating in a raid
- Camping a timed spawn
- In line to camp in which leaving will force the loss of your place in line
- Below a reasonable level to render assistance
- Can not stay logged in long enough to carry out a rescue mission (Real life engagements take priority)
- Other exceptions will be made
All requests will be documented and posted to the website so please keep track of who is involved and the details of the rescue. Please try to assist your guild mates when they are in a "jam", because they will be there for you as well. Remember, it is always cheaper and easier to assist someone in a rescue effort, than to buy them all new gear when they have lost it all due to an unrecoverable corpse which has decayed. Nobody wants to lose their hard-earned gear.
Request for Alliance Assistance
If it is clear there are not enough SoD! members currently online to reasonably perform a rescue operation and the deceased is unable to wait for enough guild-mates to arrive to carry out a rescue, the guild member MAY call for a "Alliance Assistance". The member's first point of contact when such a call is made should go through the SoD guild leader (Bobmd) or asst. guild leader (Syrocco) if either is currently online. IF neither is currently online, the next action should be to request alliance action through one of the alliance council members (Msrainbow, Cruise, Wolvesbain). IF no council members can be contacted, direct requests to RTC members may occur at the judgment AND discretion of the requesting member. This course of action should not be abused and should only be used in the most dire of circumstances. Please be both polite and courtious when requesting alliance assistance, because you are asking them to stop what they are doing and venture into a dangerous area and risk their life to retrieve your corpse.
